There was a highly significant dependence of responses to males on the response to females (all: p subject _ sex < 0.001), and the estimate of the slope was significantly smaller than unity, suggesting that responses to females are stronger in magnitude than responses to males (VMC/S1/A1: β subject_sex [CI] = [0.27–0.49]/[0.54–0.78]/[0.45–0.078], Fig. 5b ).
