A comparison of four groups, i.e., isolated control neurons in physiological solution(C), isolated control neurons near the control pedal ganglia (C near C), isolated ER neurons in physiological solution (ER), and isolated ER neurons in their home microenvironment (ER near ER), revealed a highly significant difference between group (C) and the other three groups at p level < 0.001 in all three cases.
