This analysis (mean-variance plots) showed that for TEMRA, plasmablast, gamma delta T and inflammatory monocytes, there was a highly significant positive correlation between intra-individual mean and intra-individual variance (corrected for mean) (Fig. 3 , Supplementary Dataset Table S7 ), suggesting that these immune subsets could be the environmental-responsive subsets.
