In addition, in model 2, where transaminases were categorized into ranges identified in the bivariate analysis (ALT ≤ 4,000 U/L and ALT > 4,000 U/L; AST ≤ 6,000 U/L; AST > 6,000 U/L), a significant association was found between higher chance of death and ALT > 4,000 U/L, and borderline significance for AST > 6,000 U/L.
