Although causality cannot be determined at this point, the detection of Chlamydia in otherwise asymptomatic infertile men is highly significant and will direct future studies on the mechanisms of damage by male chlamydial infection and approaches to the detection, prevention and treatment of a potentially preventable cause of human infertility.
