To enhance the bioavailability of limonin, the study found that when absorption enhancer (verapamil, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polysorbate 80, and borneol) were orally ingested with limonin, they can significantly influence the pharmacokinetic behavior of limonin, among which the absorptive rate of limonin was increased in rat intestine, and the area under concentration–time curve (AUC) and maximum plasma concentration (C max ) of limonin showed an increasing trend.
