[ 100 ] reported that feeding rainbow trout with low, graded levels of DON ranging from 3.0 × 10 −4 to 2.6 × 10 −3 mg·kg −1 from naturally contaminated maize resulted in highly significant decrease in growth, feed intake, feed efficiency, and protein and energy utilization, whereas channel catfish fed of diets containing up to 10 mg·kg −1 DON from either a purified source or naturally contaminated wheat had no effect on the feed consumption, growth, hematocrit values, or liver weight [ 119 ].
