These findings generally reinforce the need for ongoing efforts to better address the highly significant role of overlapping alcohol and opioid use disorders in opioid overdose mortality [ 76 ] as well as the role of concurrent cocaine/crack use upon dependence and toxicity [ 12 , 14 , 39 ].
