A multi-parent advanced generation inter-cross population with 550 individuals were utilized for GWAS analysis combined with RNA-seq of lines with extreme fiber characteristics, identified highly significant QTL on D11 which further dissected into 12 genes and an auxin-responsive GH3 gene (Gh_D11G1989) as the candidate gene for fiber length ( Naoumkina et al., 2019 ).
