Although there is a ‘recent’ warming (since the 1950s) at all latitudes in SST over each ocean, the warming is more prominent in the Northern Hemisphere, specifically in North Atlantic, showing a positive trend in SST since the 1980s which is consistent with reversing trends in the Walker Circulation [ 18 ].
