Compared with ZDF rats, marginally significant higher levels of serum insulin were observed in ZDF rats supplemented with Equol after 2, 4 and 6 weeks’ treatment (Fig. 2 a) and significant higher levels of C-peptide were detected in Equol supplemented ZDF rats after 6 weeks treatment (Fig. 2 b) .
