Evidence for this includes not only that coefficients of determination were more highly significant for biomass than for harvest index but also that while responses to IM of yield and biomass were always positive ( Figure 2C , inset) in several cases, IM did not improve, and sometimes decreased, harvest index ( Figure 2F , inset).
