Although the hazard ratio in the vitamin D supplemented group was 0.88 relative to placebo controls, this was not quite statistically significant ( P = 0 = .12), although in a post hoc analysis, subjects with baseline 25OHD levels < 12 ng/ml had a significant benefit from vitamin D supplementation (HR 0.38).
