Although the magnitude of this relationship for phonological decoding is smaller than that obtained for phoneme deletion, similar marginally significant trends in this direction – which run opposite to that predicted – were also observed for non‐standardised measures of word and non‐word reading (but not for standardised measures of reading) (see Table 3 ).
