We found a borderline significant benefit that the incidence of severe hypoxemia was lower in the patients with high PaO 2 /FiO 2 ratio undergoing oxygen therapy with HFNC during endotracheal intubation compared to those under standard of care (risk ratio for interaction = 0.993, 95% CI = 0.987 to 0.999; I 2 = 10.52%; Table 2 ).
