In females, we also found a borderline significant association of higher plasma IGF1 levels with cardiovascular mortality (0.43, 0.18–1.00; p = 0.05; see Supplemental Table S2 , Model 1), but neither a significant association with cancer-related mortality (1.50, 0.45–4.93; p = 0.51; see Supplemental Table S3 , Model 1), nor with mortality from miscellaneous causes (0.43, 0.10–1.78; p = 0.24; see Supplemental Table S4 , Model 1).

For female RTR, the crude analyses showed that higher plasma IGF1 levels were associated with a significantly decreased risk of all-cause mortality (0.42, 0.26–0.66; p < 0.001; see Figure 2 and Table 3 ), while a nonsignificant trend towards a decreased risk was observed for male RTR (0.74, 0.52–1.04; p = 0.09; see Table 3 and Figure 2 ).
