The 2007 Cochrane meta-analysis showed a slight trend toward effective treatment using paromomycin, but the overall relative risks for decreased stool frequency and oocyte clearance were modest and not statistically significant. 25 Compared with randomized trials for nitazoxanide, paromomycin therapy had appreciably more disappointing and contradictory results.
