Nonzoonotic infectious diseases were correlated positively with Collectivism ( r = 0.53, p < 0.0001, n = 50), and so were zoonotic infectious diseases, but much less and with marginal significance ( r = 0.32, p = 0.03, n = 50).
The results revealed that the predictive effects associated with human-specific parasite richness remained significant with Suh Individualism ( p < 0.001), and marginally significant on two other measures ( Hofstede Individualism and Gelfand In-group Collectivism ; p ’s = 0.09 and 0.12, respectively).
