Background Despite falling tuberculosis (TB) incidence rates globally and in the WHO African Region, Mozambique shows an increasing trend of TB incidence within the last 5 years, and in 2017, it was ranked in the 11th place among the 20 countries with the highest burden of TB, with incidence rate estimated at 551/100 000 inhabitants in the general population [ 1 ].
