Considering presence or not of quoted text as a binary variable, although an association of borderline significance was present in the unadjusted model (OR 1.17, 95% CI 0.99 to 1.38), this was attenuated substantially after adjustment for other covariates (OR 1.09, 95% CI 0.91 to 1.30) with the majority of the attenuation occurring following adjustment for level of face-to-face contact.
