A post hoc analysis by Morjaria et al [ 8 ] highlights the use of ICS/LABA as single maintenance and reliever therapy compared with PRN salbutamol for a highly significant attenuation in the rate of severe exacerbations, especially in patients with moderate to severe asthma, which is similar to the findings with tiotropium as observed by Kerstjens et al [ 9 ].
