Note that the main effect of DOSE was close to significance ( F 3,57 = 2.86, p = 0.06, η 2 = 0.58), because of elevated rates of gamble responses at the highest dose used, of 0.1 mg/kg; however, this dose was also associated with major disruptions in general components of behaviour, including marked slowing of choice responding (Fig. 4b , main effect of DOSE, F 3,57 = 11.20, p = 0.001, η 2 = 0.99) and a decline in the overall number of trials started in a session from ~ 60 under vehicle conditions to ~ 40 (see Supplementary Results Figure 4 ).
