In line with previous reports [ 22 , 23 ], the prevalence of some comorbidities (including dementia) among IOP showed an increasing trend throughout the investigated period, reinforcing the idea that multimorbidity―most particularly, dementia―is an intrinsic characteristic of IOP and will be increasingly common in the residential setting.
