Cadmium accumulates primarily in the liver and kidneys of vertebrates and not in the muscle tissue and as intestinal absorption is low, biomagnification through the food chain may not be significant. 27 The present study presents information on Cd content in fish analyzed in the study area and indicates that Cd content did not differ significantly among fish with different feeding habits.
