Examination of the publication histories of articles published between 2001 and 2012 suggested that a considerable amount of academic activities (submission, revision, and acceptance) were performed by Journal of the American Society for Information Science authors and editors during weekends, and that there was an increasing trend since 2005 (Cabanac and Hartley 2013 ).
