Drug motivations were only weakly correlated with general motivational tendencies, with avoidance drug use motivation and the BIS scale evidencing the only significant association ( r = 0.21, p = 0.005) and approach drug use motivation and the BAS scale showing a trend towards significance ( r = 0.19, p = 0.014).
