In the case of selective isolation of the elderly, considering that out of those who die, an individual is 8 times more likely to be over the age of 65, there may be significant gains in discriminating. 5 This is in comparison to a French study that found in those aged 20-29, there were 8 fatalities for every 100,000 infections 18 , not much higher than the number of people in France who die in a traffic accident (5.5) per 100,000 population 19 .
