The presence of K10 insertion in two isolates from Laghman province, which has shown an increasing trend in cases of P. vivax in the last 10 years, is alarming, which should lead the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan to investigate the efficacy of chloroquine in order to improve the treatment of malaria in the country.
