Findings from the sensitivity analysis using a fixed effects model showed that exclusion of the studies by Song et al, 15 Kurihara et al, 57 Budhathoki et al, 18 and Sun et al 11 resulted in a change in the significant inverse association between plant protein intake and cardiovascular disease mortality to a marginally significant inverse association.
