effectively significantno p-value reported
Several reasons may explain the worst performance of the model with IR complexity: (1) it is likely that the sample size of the current study was not sufficient to allow us to identify effectively significant taxa; (2) the analysis used (a simple linear regression) possibly did not effectively account for the compositional nature of microbiome data; and (3) each individual taxon may have a small contribution to the overall microbial effect, while some OTU may still show moderately stronger effects.
