After comparative analysis of the stress–strain curves of vertical and parallel bedding samples after 0, 20 and 40 freeze–thaw cycles, a common conclusion could be drawn: under the same freeze–thaw cycle conditions, the stress–strain curve showed an overall trend of stretching upward and to the right under the same freeze–thaw cycle conditions, regardless of whether the specimen was vertical or parallel.
