Men with a daily potassium intake <3500 mg who were homozygous for the TT allele of rs16998073 showed an increasing trend for hypertension when compared to participants carrying the wild-type AA and AT allele, respectively (AOR = 2.15, 95% CIs = 1.74–2.64, p -interaction < 0.0001; AOR = 1.48, 95% CIs = 1.30–1.68, p -interaction < 0.0001, respectively).
