These findings are higher than the 2011 and 2016 Ethiopian demographic and health survey reports indicating an increasing trend in the prevalence rates of overweight and obesity in Ethiopia. 14 The results are in line with a meta-analysis in the Asian Pacific region which has reported that the prevalence of overnutrition was estimated at 23%. 54 A consistent finding has been also reported from a study in Ghana that the national prevalence of overweight was estimated at 25.4%.
