The mean serum ferritin levels at admission in patients with “poor outcome” (6 th -day CSS score ≤7) and “good outcome” (6 th -day CSS score >7) were 341.64 ± 54.55 ng/ml and 149.36 ± 88.54 ng/mL, respectively; the difference between these two levels of mean serum ferritin was statistically highly significant ( P < 0.001) [ Table 10 ].
