Ravussin 2015 [ 59 ] reported an increase after 6 months of bone resorption markers, such as the C-terminal telopeptide of type 1 collagen (0.098 ± 0.12 μg/L; p < 0.001) [ 69 ] and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase isoform (0.4 ± 0.1 U/L; p = 0.004) with a barely significant reduction, at 24 months, of bone formation predictors (e.g., bone-specific alkaline phosphatase: −1.5 ± 0.4 U/L; p = 0.047).
