The current smoking status of the father was associated with a lower risk of UCVA <6/18 compared with participants with a father who never smoked (OR (95% CI), 0.94 (0.90 to 0.99); p=0.010), and also a marginally significant association between current smoking status of the father and the prevalence of UCVA <6/12 was observed (OR (95% CI), 0.97 (0.93 to 1.00); p=0.049).
