Positive NIPT results indicate an increasing trend of abnormal karyotypes including different segments of duplication and deletion, which could discover the presence of a heterotopic chromosome in either of the parents. 3 , 4 , 5 Whether chromosomal abnormalities are inherited or mutated, fetuses with unbalanced genetic material may have adverse clinical outcomes.
