No statistically significant difference in visual outcomes was identified between 20-gauge compared to 23 combined with 25-gauge vitrectomies at any time point, although a small trend of 0.1 – 0.2 logMAR gains in visual acuity was seen in the 23/25-gauge group at each time point compared to 20 gauge.
