Pre-registered traditional ANOVAs For ERPs time-locked to inflection onset, repeated measures ANOVAs on the four quadrants revealed a marginally significant prediction-mismatch effect [ F (1,186) = 3.21, p = .074, mean difference = −.14 μV, 95% CI = (–.01, .29), Cohen's d = .168], reflecting, on average, less positive voltage for the mismatching condition than for the matching condition (match, M = .62 μV, SD = 1.17; mismatch, M = .48 μV, SD = 1.05).
