The length of high-quality transcripts (approximately 97.16%) obtained in this study was almost greater than 1000 bp (Table 2 ), and this transcript length was clearly significantly higher than that obtained previously with second-generation sequencing 42 , which suggests that third-generation full-length transcriptome sequencing based on PacBio SMRT sequencing technology can compensate for the limitation of the short reading length observed with NGS and promote further in-depth study of P . wulianensis and its related species without reference genomes.
