The three panels in the leftmost column of Fig 4 show that our two-step procedure controls OFDR very well regardless of the effect size and the method used in controlling the FWER in the confirmatory stage; the OFDRs have an increasing trend as the number of NHGs increases with an upper-limit of the nominal level of α = 0.05.
