The results of the main analysis using an adjusted model, controlling for multiple covariates, were however highly significant (χ 2 = 1317·65, df = 7, p < 0·0001; Table 2 ); consistent with our hypothesis, the 22q11.2 deletion was a significant independent predictor of risk of T2D (OR=2·44, 95% CI = 1·39–4·31).
