In a separate regression analysis of clonality on elevation, a significantly positive relationship between clonality and elevation was detected in unisexual plants, but this relationship was marginally significant in bisexual plants; furthermore, a steeper elevational gradient in incidence of clonal reproduction was found in plants with unisexual flowers in comparison with their bisexual counterparts (slope: 0.002 vs. 0.0003; Fig. 3 ab).
