A recent study was carried out to evaluate the usefulness of Panton-Valentine Leukocidin and Clindamycin susceptibility as markers of community origin of MRSA and the results revealed that both presence of pvl gene and susceptibility to clindamycin were found to be independent predictors of community origin of MRSA, but taken together the association was highly significant ( 71 ).
