The general environmental factors and morphological constraints and therefore the timing of emigration might be similar between sexes, but how is it about the propensity of dispersal? In many amphibians, sex-dependency has been shown, however, there does not seem to be an overall trend towards male-biased or female-biased dispersal and in some species a sex difference is missing completely (reviewed in Cayuela et al., 2020 ).
