In contrast, self-expandable valves (RR 0.74; 95% CI: 0.58, 0.95; P= 0.02) and the transfemoral approach (RR 0.85; 95% CI: 0.71, 1.02; P=0.08) were associated with a lower risk of prosthetic valve endocarditis following TAVR, although the effect of the transfemoral approach was marginally insignificant.
