A similar trend was shown in 3 studies 15 , 49 , 56 that defined hypertension as SBP ≥130 mmHg and DBP ≥85 mmHg (OR=1.32; 95% CI 1.26–1.38, P<0.001, and I 2 =97.9%) ( Figure 2 and Supplemental Figure 3 ), however these studies showed a highly significant level of heterogeneity. 3.3.3 Triglycerides and HDL-C Four studies involving 13,465 women from China 15 , 16 (n=2), Bangladesh 56 (n=1), and Tunisia 49 (n=1) showed that the risk of elevated triglyceride levels (≥1.69 mmol/L) was higher in post-than in premenopausal women (OR=1.16; 95% CI 1.11–1.21, P<0.001, and I 2 =87.7%) ( Figure 2 and Supplemental Figure 4 ).
