Biochemical estimations in RBC lysates indicated that P.guajava did not contribute remarkably to the antioxidant activity in blood, as no significant change was observed with respect to the levels of lipid peroxidation, protein carbonyls, catalase and SOD although its contribution to hepatic antioxidant activity was highly significant.
