Even within highly precarious migration streams, it is found that migrants exercise their agency (Rogaly and Coppard 2003 ) to seek and obtain ‘incremental and sometimes highly significant changes in microspaces of work and living, albeit it in a world dominated by capital’ (Rogaly 2009 , p. 1984).
