Another work [ 9 ] found that by classifying 95 stroke patients in three subgroups on the basis of their motor, somatic sensory, and visual field deficits, a highly significant difference was obtained in the probability of reaching four milestones (derived by the Barthel Index score: independence in ambulation, ability to walk 150 feet with assistance, independence in self-care function, and reaching a point of assisted care) of poststroke recovery among groups.
